About Unit 6

💭 Essential Question: How do revolutions reshape power, society, and the lives of everyday people?

Unit 6: Age of Revolution unit explores how revolutions from the 18th to early 20th century reshaped power, challenged systems of inequality, and transformed the lives of everyday people. The unit highlights the causes and consequences of major political and social revolutions, including but not limited to the French, Haitian, Industrial, and Mexican Revolutions. A major focus is on how different groups pursued change and how those changes impacted governments, economies, and societies. Throughout the unit, students will engage with the skill of evaluating evidence by analyzing diverse sources and weighing the of revolutionary change. Teachers are encouraged to support opportunities for collaboration and feedback throughout the unit to prepare students for the final assessment: a curated research paper that allows students to choose one case study and and then participate in a collaborative analysis of its comparative significance.
