Overview
Thinking Nation’s Ethnic Studies course, developed for California schools, offers a rigorous, inquiry-based approach to exploring the diverse histories, cultures, and experiences of historically marginalized communities. Aligned with the state’s Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum and graduation requirements under AB 101, the course engages students in critical thinking through curated-research papers (CRPs), primary source analysis, formative assessments, and argumentative writing. By integrating technology such as AI-supported assessments and teacher data dashboards, the curriculum equips educators to measure growth in historical thinking while fostering civic understanding and cultural awareness. Designed to be interdisciplinary and adaptable, Thinking Nation's Ethnic Studies units empowers students to analyze issues of identity, race, and justice in both historical and contemporary contexts.
